John E. Holmes, DDS
Dr. Holmes has been in private practice for nearly 11 years and is very experienced in all disciplines of dentistry. Dr. Holmes appreciates and does not take for granted the trust his patients put in him as their trusted advisor. Though Dr. Holmes loves helping his patients realize total dental health, it is the relationships that develop through the practice of dentistry that he most enjoys. Dr. Holmes and his team are proud of the family-like atmosphere they have created at Colonial Dental.
Dr. Holmes has been married to his lovely wife Jennifer for over 12 years. Dr. and Mrs. Holmes have two sons, Karstan and Max, who keep the family on the go with many school and extracurricular activities. The Holmes family enjoys boating, sports, and outdoor activities, as well as entertaining friends and family.
Dr. Holmes earned his Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry at nationally recognized William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri in 1997. He then attended the University of Missouri at Kansas City earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2002. Dr. Holmes spent over 8 years in private practice in Kansas City before moving to Fort Worth and acquiring Colonial Dental. Dr. Holmes and his team stay current on the latest research and focus on the affects oral health has on systemic health. Dr. Holmes is a published author on the subject of the Oral-Systemic Connection and keeps systemic health at the core of all treatment provided.
In January of 2010 Dr. Holmes met with a select group of dentists in Cancun, Mexico to discuss the future of dentistry and the dental professional’s role in pioneering health and wellness through healthy teeth and gums. The goal of this movement is for dentists to educate the public on adverse systemic affects of oral disease. Through this work relationships between dentists and physician are being formed to improve outcomes for those with cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, and many other systemic issues. Dr. Holmes is proud of the dental profession and excited about the role he and his colleagues are playing in the treatment and prevention of many disease processes through modern techniques in every day dentistry.
